If your purpose is all about making money out of people, you may never realise the full potential of your business opportunity.
People don’t like to be sold to, but they love to buy; so says Jeffrey Gitomer. To get your message across to potential customers, you need to help them understand what your purpose is. That message needs to have integrity to be in line with their values. People like to buy from people they view as being like them.
It can take a while to develop and you may take ages to fully understand what your purpose in business is all about – when you do, enlightenment will follow.
- Disney understand what their customers want… Their purpose is to make people happy; no more, no less than that.
- Sony had the purpose of changing the world’s perception of Made in Japan as being something good rather then something shoddy.
- Apple Corporation’s Why appeals to those people with the same values as theirs “Everything we do, We believe in challenging the status quo, we believe in thinking differently. The way we challenge the status quo is by making our products beautifully designed, simple to use, and user friendly. We just happen to make great computers. Want to buy one?”
When you understand your Why? ….. your Purpose, Vision, Values and Mission become a lot easier to define. This way you will attract the customers that best suit you.
