When did you last look in the mirror? Probably not long ago; maybe to shave or put on your makeup.
Who was looking back at you? Presuming you have a normal mirror, it was you. Your eyes looking at your face and thinking what?
When looking at yourself, your eyes, your nose, your chin…. Do you like who you see? Most importantly, do you respect the person looking back?
The one face we cannot hide from is our own – have you done all you can do to be on the path to be the best you can be?
If you feel that you are not as confident with yourself as you want to be, how do you go about it? How do you build your personal self-respect?
I have often read and listened to self-help books saying… Just think and you will be. That is great, but how about something a little more practical? Do the do, rather than just talk the talk. Be congruent!
Define your values and stick to them. Example values … Loyalty, integrity, honesty, tenacity…
Take a little time to have an inward look at you as a person, focus on the good things and positive attributes. That is the start to becoming more respectful of yourself.
Determine and implement the ideas you have to grow your self-respect. Above all, take action to do something. It may be a different of thinking, or it may be about getting a round-tuit… After all, I often hear people saying the must get a round-tuit!
