It is often said that you are judged by the company you keep.
Whilst no one should be dismissed as not valuable….. Everyone has something positive to bring to the business table if they choose to…. If you hang around with losers, the ‘nay sayers’, then that’s the sort off business you will get.
I don’t mean that everyone has to be millionaires, but they do need a positive attitude and be open to success.
I have seen businesses become very successful and their owner wonders why the people they first knew are no longer around. It’s usually because winners like to be with winners and are able to share the same experiences and attitudes.
When I started my first business I found it hard to keep up with the friends I knew when I was working for a corporation getting a good salary. To begin with it was ok. Good friends would say “that’s ok, I’ll pay for this round”. But if you have integrity and self-worth, you can’t do that for long.
The answer? become successful – sounds easy doesn’t it. Well, it takes everyone a different amount of time and effort to get to where they want to be. Having taken a while to get there myself, I know how hard it can be to feel part of the crowd again.
Along the way I have made some amazing friends who know what it’s like to grow a business and become successful… Whatever that means to you.
Some friends will be there all the way and some will be transitory… It’s not that the ones who you mingle with for a short time are false, it’s just that they fit where you are at that time.
If you can make sure that your friends and business associates are always positive and forward looking, you will always be mingling with winners.
